HARTFORD -- May is ALS Awareness month.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease is a progressive neuromuscular disease where the muscles atrophy and are unable to respond to signals from the brain.

Jena Grey, a caregiver to her mother who has ALS, and Mike Burke, Executive Director, ALS – CT Chapter, joined FOX 61 Good Day Connecticut to talk about the disease.
