LAKEVILE - Car racing is often a family affair, with such notable lineages as Earnhardt, Andretti, and Petty, but not every racer starts out from racing royalty.

Up-and-coming racer Shea Holbrook 's path to the track was less conventional. The Florida native started out as a competitive water skier but a chance ride in a NASCAR car forced her to change gears in life. With little knowledge of racing or cars at all she jumped into the sport head first and now races professionally in the Pirelli World Challenge Series.

We caught up with her at Lime Rock Park as she helped develop the next class of drivers prior to her own races there this weekend.
