Section of Route 99 in Cromwell closed due to crash

CROMWELL — A car crashed into a telephone pole early Wednesday, causing the road to be shut down.

Police got the call for the car that had hit a telephone pole on Route 99 around 5:30 a.m.

The road is shut down between Evergreen Road and Reiman Drive. The driver received minor injuries and was taken to Middlesex Hospital for treatment.

Eversource repair crews were on scene.

Police expect the road will be shut down for several hours.
