HARTFORD -- He's a 17-year-old Eagle Scout on a mission. Dan Peluso of Simsbury traveled to Port Au Prince, Haiti in June to hold free vision clinics and distribute prescription glasses to people there.
The high school junior is putting a lens on poverty.
Peluso first visited FOX 61 on June 1 to talk about his upcoming trip. He trained for it and performed eye exams for people in need in Hartford.
Now, the Eagle Scout mission is accomplished! He's back in the U.S. and talking about his amazing journey to help people see. He helped 600 residents get screened for eye glasses, because poor vision can hold people back from learning.
