LITCHFIELD - Casting for Recovery is a free weekend for women chosen by lottery who have either had breast cancer or are going through treatment for breast cancer.

It was held at the Wisdom Houses in Litchfield. The women were taught the basics of fly casting, about the equipment, flies used and knots needed for tying flies to the fly line.

They also had sessions on medical and emotional issues facing breast cancer survivors. On Sunday they went fishing at a private pond and had a on- on-one with a casting partner.

The retreats are funded entirely by donations and grants.
