BRIDGEPORT — A man was hospitalized after falling from a bridge on to Route 8 Monday morning.
State Police said a man was found on the shoulder of Route 8 Southbound near Exit 2. They believe he fell from the Washington Street overpass onto the highway.
Police had closed the road between Exits 2 and 3 on the Southbound side for a time to rescue the man who suffered head injuries, cuts and broken bones. He did not appear to have been hit by a car, said officials.
He had no identification on him, but police were able to identify him, but did not release his name.
He is being treated at Bridgeport Hospital.
