WATERBURY — One person is dead after an early morning accident on Route 8.
State Police said a car hit a tree on Route 8 southbound near Exit 36. Roy Gruner, 35 of Beacon Falls died in the crash.
The accident happened around 2:15 a.m. The highway was briefly shutdown but has reopened.
