Route 6 in Andover reopened after woman hit by tractor-trailer truck

ANDOVER — LifeStar responded to an accident in Andover on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Jonathan Trumbull Highway, also known as Route 6, and Hebron Road, for an accident involving  a 47-year-old woman who was hit by a tractor-trailer, suffering serious injuries.

The accident was reported around 1:15 p.m.  at a notoriously dangerous area for bad accidents known locally as ‘suicide six.’

A stretch of Rt. 6 was closed between Route 316 and Long Hill Road but the road was reopened by 2:30 p.m.

State Police Troop K responded to the scene and are investigating.

It is unclear if there are other injuries.
