West Haven man killed in Monroe motorcycle crash

MONROE – A West Haven man was killed when his Harley was hit my a truck on Route 110 Saturday morning.

Police said at around 10:20 a.m., a motorcycle and truck were involved in a collision on Shelton Road at the intersection of Wheeler Road.

Russell Curtis, 68, of West Haven, was traveling west on Shelton Road on his 2011 Harley Davidson.

A 2003 GMC dump body pickup truck pulling a trailer was traveling north on Wheeler Road and the crash happened when the GMC entered Shelton Road.

Curtis was injured and taken to Bridgeport Hospital for medical treatment but his injuries proved fatal.

Shelton Road was closed for an hour while the investigation was conducted and the case remains under investigation. T

This is the second fatal motorcycle collision in Monroe in the last five days.
