HARTFORD--Police are investigating a triple-shooting that occurred in Hartford Tuesday evening.

A man and woman were killed, and a third person was hurt in the shooting, which occurred on Enfield Street, near the intersection with Greenfield Street. The woman was shot in the torso several times, and the man was shot in the head.

According to police, there were two shot-spotter notifications, each with four gunshots, around 7:22 p.m.

The male victim was dead when police arrived, and the female victim died at St. Francis Hospital. The third person's injuries aren't life-threatening. The victims were in their early 20s, Deputy Chief Brian Foley said at the scene.

The shooting occurred outside, and it is believed that a fourth person was involved, but it's still not clear what occurred. Police will continue processing the scene for several more hours.

FOX 61 is at the scene and will continue to update the story as it develops.
