STORRS — UConn trustees are voting Wednesday whether to revoke an honorary degree awarded to Bill Cosby.

The university says it would be the first time it has revoked an honorary degree. The Board of Trustees is scheduled to vote Wednesday.

University Provost Mun Choi has recommended taking back the degree in light of conduct he described as incongruent with the university’s values, namely that dozens of women have accused the comedian of sexual misconduct. He has denied the allegations.

More than two dozen colleges and universities around the country have rescinded honorary degrees awarded to Cosby or are considering doing so.

The university awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts to Cosby in 1996.
