West Hartford shooting victim in critical condition: Police

WEST HARTFORD — A man shot in a domestic incident Sunday is in critical condition according to police.

Two people were injured in a shooting at a West Hartford home on Sunday around 7:30 a.m. Sunday at a home on Jackson Avenue.

Responding officers found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was outside the house with three children. The man was inside the house with another child. Both victims were taken to area hospitals. Police said the man suffered serious injuries from a gunshot wound to the head and is in critical condition.

The woman had a gunshot wound to her arm.

Police said they aren’t sure who fired the shots but that it was a domestic incident.

The couple’s four children who were in the home at the time of the shooting were uninjured, ranging from 3 to13 years old.

Police haven’t released the victims’ identities. No further details were immediately available.

Police are still investigating.
