WATERBURY — A man who was arrested for murder Sunday has the victim’s name tattooed on his throat in the booking photo.

Police were called to 36 Plaza Ave. Sunday at 5 p.m. and found the body of Melanie Heuberger, 40, hidden in a closet on the second floor.

Adam Plaeger, 38, who lived in the apartment with Heuberger, was arrested and charged with murder. Plaeger’s booking photo shows a tattoo with the name Melanie on his throat.

Officials believe Plaeger and Heuberger were involved in a domestic dispute and that Plaeger choked Heuberger to death several days before the body was found.

Plaeger was being held on $1 million bond.
