Man dies in Voluntown after motorcycle hits deer

VOLUNTOWN – State police said a man was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday morning when his motorcycle hit a deer.

The crash happened just after 5 a.m. near the intersection of Routes 138 and 165.

Peter Kozlowski, 37, of Jewett City, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police said he was heading east on a 2002 Harley-Davidson east when he hit the deer and lost control, into the westbound lane.

Police said he was then hit by a two cars heading west.

Neither of the other motorists were injured, police said.
