NEW LONDON–Police have made an arrest after an uptick in heroin overdoses.
On July 8, New London narcotics officers saw a man, later identified as Kyle Aguiar, involved in an illegal narcotics transaction. When officers approached him, they found heroin packaged for individual sales.
Police had gotten tips that Aguiar was responsible for the sale of heroin that led to multiple overdoses recently.
Aguiar, 29, of Waterford, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Last weekend a man died in New London from a heroin overdose, though it’s not known if it was connected to the drugs that police say Aguiar had.
