A line of storms with a history of producing flash flooding and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph, in eastern New York State will move east and weakened by time they get into western Connecticut tonight. The line of showers could still produce chance a few embedded storms into parts of the region, as the warm front approaches the region overnight.
Sunday will start out damp under mostly cloudy skies with a bit more sun peaking through the clouds during the afternoon. High temperatures will be a little milder averaging in the mid to upper 70s, possibly approaching 80 in western Connecticut where there will be more sunshine. The cold front will move through the area in the afternoon when a passing shower or thunderstorm could still graze parts of central and eastern Connecticut.
High pressure will build into New England through most of next week with sunshine and low humidity to start and then the high will build south and east of Connecticut that will deliver mid summer heat and humidity with temperature around or over 90 by Wednesday that could last through end of the week before the next cold front approaches Connecticut .
