WINTHROP, Maine  — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said it charged four people from Maine and Connecticut with dealing heroin throughout Kennebec County in Maine.

Authorities said Michelle St. Laurent, 28, of Winthrop, was charged with aggravated heroin trafficking, due to the amount of heroin seized, which was 76 grams.

Tyrone Lindsay, 20, of Waterbury, was charged with aggravated heroin trafficking. His bail was set at $20,000 cash.

Daniel Ackerly, 30, of Winthrop, was charged with Class B heroin trafficking His bail was set at $2,500 cash.

Frederick Werner, 59, of Winthrop, was charged with Class B heroin trafficking. His bail was set at $2,500 unsecured.

Police said they arrested Ackerly and Werner on Thursday following an investigation that included the undercover purchase of heroin.

That led police to St. Laurent’s house where they both St. Laurent and Lindsay were, along with 76 grams of heroin, and about $2,400 in cash

The street value of the heroin seized was around $15,500. Other evidence of drug trafficking was also seized.

A court date of Thursday, September 22, was set for all four defendants.
