HARTFORD  - Promoting peace through painting is the goal of a new art project in Hartford.

"A mural like this is really celebrating community through creativity," said volunteer Amy LaBossiere.

Communal creativity was being used to combat violence by bringing a mural to life on Niles Street.

The Niles Street mural is the third of six murals across the capital city. Each mural represents one of the Reverend Martin Luther King's six principles of nonviolent social change.

The goal is to complete all the murals and then put together a book, mapping out where they are all located in the city.
