EAST HAVEN — At least one person has been seriously injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 95 in Connecticut.

State police said the crash happened at around 3:30 p.m. Saturday near exit 51 in East Haven, just over a mile past U.S. 1.

Police said the crash involved at least two vehicles and at least one person was ejected from a vehicle. Extrication was needed for somebody else, according to police.

The highway was closed and vehicles were getting by on the grass then traffic was diverted off of exit 51.

Just after 7 p.m. the left and center lanes were open. The state Department of Transportation said the scene was cleared just after 7:30 p.m.

State police said that even though all lanes are now open, drivers should still use caution in the area.
