Two community college police officers injured in a deadly shooting during a protest in downtown Dallas say that when they met with President Barack Obama, he expressed his appreciation for their efforts during the sniper attack.

Detective Cpl. Bryan Shaw of the El Centro College police force told The Associated Press Tuesday that Obama was "thankful for everything that we did."
