Woman fatally electrocuted after severe weather causes wires to fall on car in NJ

FANWOOD, N.J. — A person has died after being electrocuted when wires fell on her car during a thunderstorm Monday evening.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m., according to PIX 11. The 26-year-old woman, who is from Plainfield, New Jersey, was in her car on Midway Avenue in Fanwood, New Jersey when live wires fell on it.

Severe storms have been sweeping the Northeast all day, and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the evening.

One person who lives in that area took a video of the crazy weather, saying its severity couldn’t be captured on camera.
