NEW BRITAIN -- A Massachusetts man will face a judge in New Britain Superior Court Tuesday morning, for accusations he robbed the same bank for a second time.

Chrisopher Lunn, 33, is accused of snatching a pile of about $600 off the counter at the Webster Bank on Cromwell Avenue, in Rocky Hill, last November.  He didn’t get away with money, although he tried, because State Senator Paul Doyle, chased after him.

Doyle said in a recent interview, he heard the commotion and reacted.  He said he did have a few fearful moments when he caught up to the robber, saying he was hoping the man didn’t have a gun.

The robber reportedly dropped the cash and ran off.

Police were able to track down Lunn as their suspect, but couldn’t make the arrest right away.  Lunn was in jail already for drug charges forcing police to wait to extradite him until just last month.

In a recent police interrogation video, Lunn admits to robbing the bank, saying the November incident was the second time he done it.

"I was like, 'I could take this and go,'" Lunn told Rocky Hill police. "I had a feeling I was going to get chased either way because they're probably going to be able to recognize me from the old footage."

He’s been charged with one count larceny and one felony robbery charge.
