NEW YORK — Eleven people were injured after a double-decker tour bus jumped a curb and crashed into a tree near Central Park on Thursday.
PIX 11 reports the bus crashed into a tree at East 63rd Street and Fifth Avenue, right outside Central Park. The incident was reported at 1:14 p.m.
A taxi driver is suspected of having cut off the open-top tour bus, causing it to go off the road and into the tree, according to police.
Based on witness accounts, it appears it was a tourist bus from the company New York Tours.
Police on scene confirmed the injuries were minor.
