Roughly an hour later, just after midnight, a 29-year-old man was shot in the stomach and elbow while outside the K & F Convenience Store on Wethersfield Avenue.

Deputy Chief Foley said, the victim was closing up the store and hanging out outside with some friends when two men approached them and asked if the store was open. The victim told them it was closed, the suspects walked away, but returned moments later and ordered the group not to move as they showed a gun and shot one of the men.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and rushed into surgery. His condition is listed as guarded but stable.

Police said the suspects were last seen running away on Wethersfield Avenue onto Adelaide Street. Witnesses said they left in a black midsize sedan that had been parked in the driveway of 9-11 Adelaide Street.

Also overnight, a 42-year-old man was shot on Marshall Street, outside an apartment building near Farmington Avenue.

Deputy Chief Foley said the victim was shot in the face and the bullet exited the back of his head. He was taken to Saint Francis Hospital and rushed to surgery.  He is currently in critical/unstable condition.

The police were notified of this shooting also through the shot spotter system.

Police are looking into who is responsible in each shooting.  So far police do not believe there is any connection to the three incidents.
