SWEETWATER, Texas — Police dashcam video out of Texas is going viral, not for a crime or gruesome accident, but for an act of generosity.

Pastor Wendell Davis was pulled over in Sweetwater but instead of a ticket, he got a hug, and a very special moment.

“It was definitely a hiccup in my plan as I had never planned on being stopped,” Davis said.

Pastor Davis says he never thought a traffic stop would end with him giving a state trooper a hug.

On Friday, he was dead to Dallas but was pulled over for an expire registration sticker and for not having a front license plate.

But Trooper Connor Harden did not give Davis a ticket, he did something else.

“He then said, ‘I am going to give you two warnings and I would like to make two requests,'” Davis said.

Hardin requested Davis make the changes to his car and Davis gave him his word that he would.

“He said, ‘My second request is will you pray for me?’ And I said, ‘Absolutely, I will’. And of course I know the climate within America. But that didn’t cloud my mind, that didn’t come to mind,” said Davis.

At the end of the prayer, Trooper Hardin had one more request.

“I said, ‘Sure, it’s only almost 100 degrees out here, so sure. And he said, ‘Can I have a hug?’ Well I had never been asked that by a state trooper and so I said, ‘sure’ and I hugged him.”

Now Davis says he believes it was a divine moment.

As of Wednesday morning, the video had more than 3,000 plays on YouTube.
