NORWICH — A local Norwich man has died after crashing his motorcycle overnight on Route 32.

Police and EMTs were dispatched to the area of 74 West Thames Street, a major stretch of road running parallel to the Thames river in central Norwich, just after 2 a.m. Saturday.

Crews came upon a gravely injured middle-aged male at the crash site. Andre J. Ross, 37, of Norwich was the only victim. No other vehicles or occupants were involved.

Upon further examination by EMS officials, it was determined Ross had succumbed to his wounds following the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Norwich Police Department Accident Reconstruction team later arrived on scene and began conducting an investigation, which is expected to continue through most of the day.

Anyone with information is asked to call Norwich Officer Andre Rosedale at (860) 886-5561 ext. 6.
