BRENTWOOD, MO – A 20-year-old man suspected of stealing a grocery store delivery truck was eventually caught after DNA found in the vehicle linked the man to the crime, the Brentwood Police Department said Friday.
According to Jason Simpson, a police spokesman, a truck belonging to Dierberg’s was stolen from the parking lot outside its Brentwood location. Investigators reviewed security footage, which showed a man approach the truck from Brentwood Metrolink station.
The stolen truck was located the next day, with a man’s fecal-laden pants sitting inside the vehicle.
Investigators used the DNA from the fecal matter and linked it to a suspect, identified as Justin Buggs.
When questioned by police, Buggs admitted to being in Brentwood but denied stealing the truck.
