SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — Luke Aikins becomes first skydiver to successfully jump without a parachute, landing in a net in California.

Aikins has made nearly 20,000 parachute jumps but this one was like no other.

The skydiver, who did several jumps for the film "Ironman 3," jumped from an airplane without a parachute or a wingsuit as part of the "Heaven Sent" special airing tonight on FOX 61.

Aikins jumped out of an airplane over Simi Valley in California. After two minutes of freefall, became the first skydiver to safely land in a net.

Aikins said he knows it sounds crazy, but after two years of training, he wants people to see that with hard work sometimes the impossible becomes possible.
