HARTFORD – A look at the Democratic and Republican conventions with guest John Kennelly, Democratic operative and former Hartford city councilman.

The Democrats and Republicans have each had their week in the presidential spotlight. Now, it is on as the race for the White House begins in earnest.

Donald Trump was again letting insults and criticisms fly on Twitter, in response to those who spoke out against him during the Democratic National Convention. He said former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg "never had the guts to run for president" and retired Marine General John Allen -- a former commander of U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan -- "failed badly" in the fight against the Islamic State.

As for Hillary Clinton's claim that Trump can't handle the "rough-and-tumble of a presidential campaign," Trump notes that he defeated a field of GOP hopefuls for the nomination.
