MADISON - A group of UConn medical students are biking for a good cause this summer.

The students are biking cross-country to benefit sick children and their families.

The trip covered 3,500 miles of open road from Seattle, Washington to Madison.

The trip is part of the 11th Annual UConn "Coast to Coast for a Cause" cross-country bike ride to support the "Hole in the Wall Gang Camp," an organization that helps seriously ill children and their families.

"I really wanted the adventure and I wanted to kind of do something tangible and exciting," said Emily Wilkins, a UConn medical student. "Actually the ride was one of the reasons I picked UConn to go to medical school here. And it really... it was so worth it. I love it here. And I loved the ride!"

Wilkins was the only cyclist to finish the cross-country ride. which took her 51 days to complete.
