Police in Bridgeport searching for driver in hit & run crash

BRIDGEPORT — Police in Bridgeport are searching for the driver responsible for a crash that seriously injured a man Tuesday night.

Police were called to the car versus pedestrian accident around 9 p.m. in front of 615 North Ave in Bridgeport.

Felix Rivera, 52, who lives on that street, was crossing the street when he was struck. He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Police said a woman was driving a dark red Chevrolet SUV when she hit Rivera and drove off. Witnesses told police she was speeding and disobeying traffic signals.

The front grill of the SUV was left in the road next to the victim.

Any witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call Bridgeport Police at 203 576-TIPS (8477).
