NEW HAVEN — One man has been convicted in a 2011 Hartford murder case.
Karl Roye, also known as “Eagle,” was convicted Thursday in New Haven Federal Court of murdering Anthony Parker.
Parker, 24, of Hartford, was shot at around 10:45 a.m. on April 6, 2011 near 15 Thomaston St. He was found unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a car in the driveway of that home, and later died at the hospital. Parker was also known as “Smooth.”
Roye was arrested in February 2015 after a long investigation conducted by the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Violent Crimes Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hartford Police Department. The investigation centered around narcotics trafficking and violence by members of the WestHell and Team Grease street gangs. Roye has been in jail since September 2013 for an unrelated matter.
Also arrested at the time was Jimel Frank, 27, of Hartford. Frank was charged with engaging in and conspiring to engage in a violent crime in aid of racketeering.
Roye daces a maximum sentence of life in prison when he appears in court on October 27.
