NEW HAVEN–Police are investigating two instances of vandalism in New Haven, one of which may have been a distraction for the other.
At 2:54 a.m. on Monday, firefighters responded to an abandoned building on Frank Street for reports of a fire on the first floor. It was found that a person had broken in through a window and lit a pile of trash on fire in the house.
Next to the broken window someone spray painted “(name) did this” with a design.
While a police supervisor was investigating in the building, someone spray-painted his cruiser with anti-police expletives. The windshield was also painted.
Police are searching for the suspect. Stay with FOX 61 for updates.
