Car drives through medical office building in Portland

PORTLAND — A car drove through a building in Portland, Connecticut Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. at a medical office building located at 280 Main Street in Portland.

A witness who was at a restaurant next door said a woman drove her car through the building and was taken out on a stretcher.

She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Middlesex Hospital for evaluation.

No word yet on the woman’s identity or what caused the accident.

Building officials, firefighters, and CNG officials are surveying the building checking for hazards and checking the stability of the building.
