NEW HAVEN–A state senator is in need of help, and his local church is coming to his aid.
On Monday, the Santa Rosa de Lima Church of New Haven posted a plea on its Facebook page for parishioners to help their fellow worshiper, state Sen. Martin Looney, find a kidney donor. The post was originally written in Spanish.
“His only kidney is failing,” the post said about Looney (in its English translation). “He needs a transplant. There’s no one in his family that has a compatible kidney.”
“Would you consider donating one of your kidneys to Martin?” the post asks.
For more information, the church says you can contact the organ donor help line at Yale-New Haven Hospital at 1-866-925-3897. They ask that you share the post so that it gains more traction.
