HARTFORD-- One man died after being shot Thursday evening.
Around 8:20 p.m. police got a 911 call that a person had been shot near the intersection of Main Street and Cleveland Street.
When first responders arrived they immediately began CPR on the victim and took him to Hartford Hospital, but he died a short time later.
Police identified the victim as Joseph Jiles, 40, of Hartford.
According to Hartford Police Deputy Chief Brian Foley, initial information indicates the man was shot in the arm and upper torso.
This is the city's 12th homicide in 2016, and the Major Crimes and Shooting Task Force units are on scene investigating.
