Gas leak evacuates ESPN buildings in Bristol

ESPN Announces Employee Layoffs

BRISTOL — Personnel was evacuating from buildings at the ESPN complex Monday morning.

A third party construction crew hit a natural gas line just after 8 a.m., according to Eversource. Witnesses said there were multiple emergency vehicles in the area of the main building on the campus.

ESPN has a number of buildings along Route 229 in Bristol, Connecticut.

Eversource shut the gas off and was able to let people back into the buildings about an hour later.

No one was injured.
