MILFORD — A fire in a commercial building shut down a portion of Rt. 1 or Boston Post Road in Milford for a period of time on Wednesday morning. Around 7:40 a.m. crews were called to the Drill Masters-Eldorado Tool Company on Boston Post Road.
The roof was being worked on the previous day and fire started inside the roof. Firefighters had to use hand and power tools to expose the smoldering fire before they could put it out.
The street was closed between Ford Street and Plains Road. It has since reopened.
Units from Stratford and West Haven Fire Departments provided mutual aid coverage to the City of Milford during the incident. No injuries were reported.
Milford’s Fire Marshal’s division is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
