HARTFORD — Country singer Miranda Lambert couldn’t help but get a little choked up at a recent concert, but the audience helped her pull through.

Lambert was singing “The House that Built Me” during a concert on August 19 at the Xfinity Theater in Hartford when she spotted a sign in the crowd and brought it on stage.

The sign said “3 combat tours…your voice was the last thing I heard every night. Thank you.”

Lambert held up the sign for everyone else to see, and then she broke out in tears. Video showed the soldier who had brought the sign was crying too.

Lambert then tried to finishing “The House that Built Me,” but she had trouble getting through it. The crowd helped her finish it.
