Juvenile hit by car while on scooter in Cheshire

CHESHIRE–Police are investigating a pedestrian crash that left a juvenile injured on Monday afternoon.

A car hit a 16-year-old boy who was crossing the street with a scooter on Higgins Road, near the intersection with Sorghum Mill Drive. The teen was injured, and was taken to an area hospital. It was determined he had several broken bones and internal injuries. The driver and passengers in the car weren’t hurt.

Higgins Road was closed between Towpath Lane and Ward Lane as police investigate the crash, and the investigation is ongoing as of Tuesday into whether charges should be filed. The Meriden Superior Court is reviewing the case.
