14-year-old boy seriously injured when struck by car on Rt. 1 in Milford

MILFORD — A teenage boy was struck by a car Tuesday morning while trying to cross the road.

Milford officials said the accident happened in the area of Bridgeport Ave and Camden Street at 7:26 a.m. Bridgeport Avenue is also known as Route 1. The car involved in the accident stayed on scene.

Milford Fire officials said the injuries were potentially serious and the boy was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital Trauma Center.

On Sunday night, a 34-year-old woman was struck at the intersection of Bridgeport Avenue Woodland Drive, about a quarter-mile away. She is being treated for life-threatening injuries. Police are still looking for the car involved in that crash.
