EAST HAVEN — Two people are accused of assaulting a pizza delivery driver during an attempted robbery in East Haven.

The Hartford Courant reports 27-year-old Jonathan Perdue, of East Haven, and 36-year-old Tanya La Kierce, of Wallingford, are charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree threatening and second-degree criminal attempt to commit robbery.

Officers were called to the scene just before 8 p.m. Saturday for a reported fight. Responding officers learned there was an altercation in the street and a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was assaulted.

Police said Perdue and La Kierce took off but were found in a neighborhood about three minutes away, after a K-9 provided by the North Branford Police Department found La Kierce running out of the back of house on Brennan Street and Perdue was found on the third floor of that house.

Lt. Joseph Murgo said they were combative and threatened officers.

Both Perdue and La Kierce are being held on $100,000 bail. It’s unclear if they have lawyers.
