BLOOMFIELD – Hot air balloon pilot William Costen will be presented a lifetime achievement award from the Balloon Federation of America.

Costen, an African-American photojournalist and archivist, will receive the award on Sunday at The First Cathedral at 1151 Blue Hills Avenue in Bloomfield.

Costen, and his wife Lynda live in Bloomfield and have two married children.

Jarrell, a graduate of Hampton University, works as a financial analyst.

Chantal, a graduate of Howard University, works as a television producer and owns her own company, Made for TV productions LLC. With her background in filmmaking, she is currently producing a documentary on her Dad titled, “Sky Endeavors: The Story of a Black Balloon Pilot.”

The award will be given during the 10:45 a.m. service. All are welcome to attend.
