SOUTHINGTON -- An easy and simple way to freshen up your home is by getting new light fixtures.

David Director, owner of Connecticut Lighting Centers, is bringing the light to the Home of Distinction. Innovations are everywhere at Connecticut Lighting Centers in Hartford. For instance, they sell a monitor that starts as a TV and with the press of a button becomes a mirror. They will also outfit the outside of the Home of Distinction with a New England look, using lanterns and onions. The Home of Distinction will feature orbs and energy efficient LED lighting.

Tours run Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets cost $10. That money supports Bread For Life which serves more than 35,000 meals a year to the hungry.
