FAIRFIELD - Saturday afternoon the Pioneers of Sacred Heart moved to 2-0 on the year with a 42-14 win over the Crusaders of Valparaiso.
After the Crusaders tied the game 7-7 early in the first quarter the Pioneers scored 28 straight points to lead 35-7, Valpo added a TD late in the first to cut the SHU lead to 35-14 at the break.
Early in the third Jay Croom on a nice run scores the final touchdown of the game to dash any hopes of a Crusader comeback.
