HARTFORD--The temperatures are cooling down and the leaves are changing, and that means kids are back in school. Even though this summer is just coming to a close, it's never too early to start thinking about next summer when it means helping kids go to camp!

Camp Courant will host its annual Buddy Bash on Friday, September 16. This year's theme is "surf's up," in honor of the new $1 million pool that was installed at the beginning of this summer. McKinley Albert, executive director and CEO of Camp Courant, joined us on Good Day Connecticut to chat about the event.

The Buddy Bash helps raise funds so that inner-city kids can attend a free camp, and have amenities like STEM, financial literacy programs, free dental care, swimming lessons, as well as fun camp activities.

FOX 61 is a sponsor of the event.
