HARTFORD – Country Living has listed their ’15 Small New England Towns You Need to Visit ASAP’ and the list includes five Connecticut communities.

They put the list together ‘because this region is known for a lot more than its stunning fall foliage.’

The five Connecticut towns that made the list are Essex, Haddam, Kent, Mystic, Washington.

Essex was once called “The Best Little Town in America”  and Kent is “full of the kind of small-town country charm you can only dream about.”

Fans of Mystic Pizza might already flock to Mystic, which is the locale of the beloved Julia Roberts film, and die-hard Gilmore Girls fans know that the fictional town of Stars Hollow is based on Washington.

Haddam gets a shout out for the Cockaponset State Forest, the second largest forest in the Connecticut state forest system.
