‘Untimely death’ investigation on I-84 in Farmington ties up traffic Friday morning

WEST HARTFORD — Traffic was backed up on Interstate 84 Friday morning near exit 37 in Farmington, near the West Hartford line.

State Police Trooper Kelly Grant said crews were called to investigate an untimely death around 7:45 a.m.

The left lane was closed on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway. Traffic was crawling in both directions until about 9:30 a.m. when the highway reopened.

State Police Major Crimes unit  assisted with the investigation, Trooper Grant said. There is no criminal aspect to the death, Grant added.

The person has not yet been identified.
