WALLINGFORD–After months of watching and waiting, police made an arrest in an ongoing drug investigation on Friday.

Wallingford narcotic detectives say that throughout 2016 they’ve gotten tips that Steven Vincent, 24, of Wallingford, has been routinely going into Hartford to buy large quantities of heroin, which he would then allegedly bring back to Wallingford to sell.

On September 13, detectives saw Vincent and another man, Spencer Quickley, 25, of Wallingford, conduct what appeared to be a drug transaction. This occurred in Hartford. Detectives then pulled Vincent over when he returned to Wallingford, and when searched he was found to have 290 bags of heroin and more than $750.

Vincent was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics and conspiracy to possess narcotics. He was held on $100,000 bond and is due in court October 7.

Quigley was charged with conspiracy to possess narcotics and he was released on a promise to appear in court on September 27.

Vincent was previously arrested in March by Wallingford police when he was found to be in possession of heroin, and he has several narcotic-related cases pending at Meriden Superior Court.
