HARTFORD — The Connecticut Health Council took its mission of promoting Connecticut as a center of excellence for collaboration and innovation in the health sector to Washington, D.C. recently. The Council is an initiative of the MetroHartford Alliance.

Several leaders representing the health sector from DC-based organizations attended the inaugural Forum to discuss a variety of health care topics, including innovation and disruption.

The forum also included a discussion of the likely impact of this year’s presidential and congressional elections on health care policy, the Affordable Care Act and other health initiatives.

"The DC Forum is designed to enhance the collaboration among leaders of Connecticut’s dynamic health sector while showcasing Connecticut’s depth and breadth as a center of health expertise,” said Amy Cunningham, executive director of the Connecticut Health Council in a statement. “Our goal is for attendees to leave the Forum with cross-cutting, relevant, and valuable information, so that Connecticut’s health sector continues to thrive.”
